Rans Cilegon back pointing Rahmad Darmawan to face the competition League 1 2022. The coach from Lampung was tied with a one-year contract.
Rahmad Darmawan is not a new name in Rans because he has handled this team while still competing in Liga 2 2021. After League 2 ended, Rahmad Darmawan had time to cover to Barito Putera for the remainder of the 2021 BRI Liga 1 season.
Now Rans has been promoted to Liga 1 2022 after being runners-up in Liga 2 last season. The team management also decided to re-appoint Rahmad Darmawan.
The coaching team was filled by several former names such as Mohammad Nasuha and Bayu Eka Sari as Assistant Coaches, Nurcholis as Physical Trainers, Yanuar Hermansyah as Goalkeeper Coaches. There are also two new names in the coaching staff, namely Muchammad Ulil Abror as Video Analyst and one name that is still under discussion by Rans management.
“Thanks to Rans who made me make history as the first coach of a club in Liga 1. Hopefully my existence can fill the puzzle, I can’t work alone. It takes all the support from all parties,” said Rahmad Darmawan when giving a press statement, Monday (11/4/2022).
“The material is 50-50 players from the old squad plus new players. If later there are additions it could happen, at this time it is still in the process of exploring with players,” he added.
Chairman Rans Raffi Ahmad said that the appointment of Rahmad Darmawan was the right choice. The experience factor in handling Rans is also one of the main considerations.
With this appointment, Rans’ homework remains to find players. Quality players are being targeted to meet the target of breaking into the top five of League 1.
“Welcome back Coach RD, bringing Rans runner-up to League 2. Coach RD when in League 2 he replaced Bambang (Bambang Nurdiansyah), now we in League 1 appoint Rahmad Darmawan again,” said Raffi Ahmad.
“Speaking of readiness, Rans is looking for foreign and local players with the possibility that there will be a lot of disassembly. There are foreign players, Asia has also been prepared,” he said.
“Hopefully the best important targets, thank God, qualify for League 2. Hopefully they show seriousness,” he said again.
