Three-time Olympic swimming champion Ranomi Kromowidjojo and her husband and Olympic champion Ferry Weertman are expecting their first child. The two former swimmers announced this on Instagram on Monday. “Making waves in a whole new way! Our little swimmer has already won his first race,” the two write with a photo of them.
In the photo, Kromowidjojo’s pregnant belly is clearly visible. The couple is holding a romper with “baby 2025” written on it. It is not clear exactly when the multiple European and world champion is due. 34-year-old Kromowidjojo married 32-year-old Weertman, a former open water swimmer, in September 2022.
