| Ranking T-20: Virat Kohli climbs to 14th place

Dubai: Indian player Virat Kohli won the latest Twenty20 ranking from the International Cricket Council (ICC). Kohli, who climbed 14th on the hit list, finished 15th. Kohli was helped by his good performance in the Asian Cup which ended in the United Arab Emirates.

Virat Kohli has scored 276 points in five Asian Cup games, including a first century in children’s cricket. Pakistani Mohammad Rizwan is the best hitter with 810 points. South African Aiden Markra (792) is followed by Pakistan captain Babar Azah (771). Indian Suryakumar Yadav is in fourth place with 755 points. Suriya is the only Indian star in the top ten. David Malan (England), Aaron Finch (Australia), Devon Conway (New Zealand), Pathum Nisanka (Sri Lanka), Mohammad Wasim (United Arab Emirates) and Reza Henticus (South Africa) are in positions five to ten.

Indian Bhuvveshwar Kumar slipped one place to seventh place among bowlers, despite leading the Asian Cup with 11 casualties. Vanindu Hazaranga finished sixth for Sri Lanka who won the tournament with a brilliant all-round performance. Australian Josh Hazelwood leads the bowlers with 792 points. Tabreez Shamsi of South Africa, Adil Rashid of England, Adam Zampa of Australia and Rashid Khan of Afghanistan are in positions two to five. Mahesh Thikshana (Sri Lanka), Mujibur Rahman (Afghanistan) and Aqeel Hussain (West Indies) are the other players in the top ten.

Among the all-rounders, Bangladeshi captain Shakib Al Hasan maintained the top spot with 248 points. Hardik Pandya is the only Indian in the top 10, dropping one position to seventh place. Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hazaranga climbed four places behind Muhammad Nabi (Afghanistan) and Moeen Ali (England). Glenn Maxwell (Australia), JJ Smith (Namibia), Zeeshan Maqsood (Oman), Rohan Mustafa (UAE) and Deependra Airey (Nepal) took the following positions.
