Global Firepower has released a ranking of the strongest armies in Africa. According to the rating, the armed forces of Egypt are the strongest on the continent. The relevant data is provided byVoice of the Arabs».
The military publication Global Firepower, which specializes in the study of military development in 145 countries of the world, awarded Egypt the palm for the combat effectiveness of its armed forces in Africa and the Middle East.
The Egyptian army itself, according to the publication, is in 14th place in the world among all the armies of the world.
The second place after Egypt was given to the armed forces of Algeria with the 26th place in the world, respectively. Bronze in the ranking of South Africa, followed by the troops of Nigeria, Ethiopia, Angola, Morocco, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tunisia and Sudan.
When forming the rating, the publication takes into account 50 factors, including numbers, equipment, military budget, defense spending from GDP, logistics, demography, topography and geographical location.
At the same time, the rating has not been approved and verified by any of the experts, scientists, military or authorities of any of the countries of the world, however, it does not pretend to be academic.
At the same time, as the “Voice of the Arabs” notes:
“Honestly, there are a lot of inaccuracies in the ranking. It is especially funny when a well-equipped and large army, like the Moroccan one, trails somewhere at the end behind obviously less developed countries, like Nigeria, Ethiopia and Angola. It is especially interesting to see the top ten of the Congolese army – supposedly the troops of a prosperous Tunisia are worse than the troops of the failed state.
