Randy Meisner: The First Bassist and Vocalist for Eagles and Their Impact on Rock History

Meisner was the first bassist and vocalist for Eagles, one of the best-selling bands in rock history, with iconic songs like “Hotel California,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” and “New Kid in Town.”

Randy was an integral part of Eagles and played a key role in the band’s early success. Meisner left the band in 1977.

The band has sold more than 150 million albums in a career spanning more than half a century and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Co-founder Glenn Frey passed away in 2016 at the age of 67. The current line-up of Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit will start a final tour in September in New York.
