Randstad drops to green AEX after hack | Financial

Around ten o’clock the AEX index is 0.2% higher at 611.8 points. The AMX rises 0.2% to 911.4 points. The price signs in London (+ 0.6%) and Paris (+ 0.5%) also turn green, while Frankfurt is almost flat.

An hour before trading starts in New York, the US Department of Labor’s job report comes out. The general expectation is that 475,000 jobs were added in the US last month.

Investors also remain under the spell of the corona vaccine. Pfizer and German biotechnologist BioNTech have plans for the number of corona vaccines they can deliver this year, according to business newspaper The Wall Street Journal have to adjust considerably. Due to problems with the supply of raw materials, they would be able to make not 100 million but 50 million doses before the end of the year. Pfizer and BioNTech still plan to deliver more than a billion doses of the vaccine to various countries next year. In the AEX Royal Dutch Shell the leader with a plus of 1.7%. The energy giant is benefiting from the more than 1% higher oil prices. Oil cartel OPEC and allies such as Russia have reached an agreement to slightly increase production of the ‘black gold’ in January. From then on, an extra 500,000 barrels may be pumped up every day. “The OPEC countries will increase oil production more slowly than expected. Food giant Unilever becomes worth 1% more. Healthcare technology group Philips wins 0.8%.

Investors also pay attention to Randstad. It is the broadcaster fell victim to hackers. These have penetrated the company’s systems and obtained data on Randstad’s activities in the United States, Poland, Italy and France. An investigation into the full use of the hack is still ongoing. The Randstad share fell 1%, making it the biggest laggard among the main funds. Meal delivery company Just Eat Takeaway also gives 1% price.

Small cap funds fall Lucas Bols in the taste with a plus of 2.5%. The beverage manufacturer has completed the purchase of the Passoã brand. Previously, Passoã was part of a joint venture with industry peer Rémy Cointreau, over which Bols was in charge of day-to-day management. Bols will pay € 71.3 million to fully incorporate the brand.
