Following the ASF cyclo team in their preparation for the now traditional Randonnée des bords de Loire is like taking a breath of fresh air. “The same one that awaits walkers and mountain bikers, Sunday February 11. A good way to launch, at a leisurely pace, a season of leisure and outdoor activities in Nièvre in this Olympic year,” say the organizers, who offer three circuits for walkers (8, 14 or 20 km) and two others for mountain bikers (26 or 39 km), along the Loire banks.
Children and adolescents, under their responsibility, will be able to accompany adults, parents or grandparents.
Once administrative tasks are completed, volunteers now devote themselves to important, essential field work. “Sorting signs, recognizing the different routes, signposting the circuits, collecting or cutting a few branches that have fallen here and there. We must also plan for refreshment stations and place them judiciously on these routes,” lists René Corbeau, one of them.
On the way back, the social center’s mobile kitchen will offer pancakes, crepes and hot drinks. Technical exchanges and advice on mountain biking will be provided by Tom’s Workshop, a specialist in the discipline.
