In order to improve road safety and the quality of life of the residents of Rancagua, municipal teams have begun important repair work on various roads in the city.
These are roads that have been affected by recent rainfall and daily vehicle traffic.
Despite preventive work and actions taken during emergencies, the heavy winter rains not only caused flooding, fallen trees and the overflow of some canals, but also impacted those areas where paving projects have not been carried out, leaving many dirt roads in impassable conditions.
Faced with this situation, the Environmental Management Department presented a project to Mayor Emerson Avendaño and the Municipal Council, proposing the leasing of specialized machinery to repair the deteriorated roads. The project was approved, with 30 million pesos of municipal funds allocated for its execution.
Mayor Emerson Avendaño highlighted the importance of these works, stating that “with these works we seek to recover Rancagua. At the municipality we understand the legitimate needs of the residents, which is why we are giving priority to this project that will benefit different sectors of the city and will help improve the quality of life and road safety in our city.”
The works include the intervention of more than 8,400 meters of roads, including El Trapiche, Los Quilos, El Rabanal, Callejón San Esteban, Estero de Machalí and Molinos Quemados.
In these areas, work will be carried out to clear, level and stabilize the roadway with gravel and sand, thus facilitating better traffic for vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians.
