According to the head of the Defense Ministry, Ukrainian defenders have repeatedly surprised the enemy, so it is worth following this tradition in the future.
Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov spoke about the results of the sixth meeting in the “Ramstein format” and noted that the consequences of some decisions that do not fall within the field of information would soon be recognized by the Russian occupiers. About this head of the defense department he wrote в Facebook.
First, Reznikov shared the results of the meeting of the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine, known as Rammstein-6, and published a list of weapons supplied by the Western allies for the needs of the Ukrainian armed forces. He particularly emphasized the provision of the Norwegian NASAMS mobile air defense systems and said that Ukrainian soldiers are already finishing mastering the skills to use this equipment. The provision of systems of this level, the head of the Defense Ministry believes, will strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian sky.
However, there are such agreements that were not expressed by officials, the participants of “Ramstein-6”. According to Reznikov, they will be a kind of surprise for the enemy.
“The non-public details of the discussions should be the first to be perceived by the Russian occupiers. We have created surprises for them more than once. This tradition should be preserved,” wrote Reznikov.
Artillery, air defense and missiles: what Ukraine will achieve following the Ramstein meeting
Furthermore, Reznikov stressed that the Kremlin’s hopes for a non-bloc status of Ukraine are completely unfounded, as the Euro-Atlantic course is enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine, the recent application for NATO membership speaks of the right of the 70 % of Ukrainian citizens to be part of the collective security system.
“It must be admitted that the only thing missing today to invite Ukraine into the Alliance is the political will of the NATO member countries,” said Reznikov.
Recall, according to US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Ukraine another military aid package will be provided, which includes modern air defense systems and equipment for offensive operations. The head of the Pentagon has clarified what he means by offensive operations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the context of the counter-offensive in the south-east of our country.
Spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuri Ignat, said on October 14 that the German anti-aircraft missile system IRIS-T is already used by the air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southern direction Villages. According to him, although IRIS-T is not a long-range system, it can work in a single information field with NASAMS and Patriot systems.
