Castromil was President of the well-known passenger transport company that his grandfather had founded in 1917 and which he directed from 1969, when it was proposed to Galicianize it and use it as an element of cultural dissemination through initiatives such as the Contos do Castromil that it distributed on the buses.

Graduated in Law, Castromil studied music in Santiago de Compostela and at the Madrid Conservatory of Music. He was a disciple of Carlo Zecchi in Rome and of Guido Agosti in Siena and He performed as a soloist in both Spanish and European orchestras.
