With the purpose of checking aspects related to housing and the local production of construction materials, Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Commander of the Revolution and Cuban Vice Prime Minister, visits the province of Pinar del Río.
He was aware of the production of clay in the territory, as well as Creole blocks and tiles. He insisted on knowing the resources we have and, above all, knowing how to use them, and he oriented the work, not to what has been done, but to what has not been done. Total importance was given to order and the need for unionization, especially in the new economic actors.
