“Sputnik V” could help to get out of the corona pandemic faster. Thuringia’s Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) has spoken out in favor of ordering the Russian corona vaccine. That is the job of the EU. In an interview with the Funke media group he said the federal government must make it clear that appropriate vaccination quantities must be ordered from the manufacturers.

The EU Commission said last week that it was not currently negotiating with manufacturers about a framework supply agreement for all 27 EU countries. In the EU, “Sputnik V” is currently only used in Hungary. The European Medicines Agency is currently reviewing the vaccine.

The AfD parliamentary group called for equal opportunities for Russian and other corona vaccines. During a visit to Moscow, Alice Weidel said she hoped that “every vaccine, no matter where it comes from, has the same chance of being approved in the EU”.
