Rambod Namdar, Iranian spy who recruits Israeli women online

TEL AVIV – An Iranian spy calling himself “Rambod Namdar” recruited women Israel by online. The Zionist internal security agency, the Shin Bet, has dismantled the Tehran espionage network.

Rambod Namdar uses Facebook to recruit manipulated Israeli women to photograph the United States (US) Embassy and other activities.

The Shin Bet did not mention the women it had recruited. However, the agency said Rambod Namdar was a Jew living in Iran.

“Despite the fact that the women suspected that the man in question was an Iranian intelligence agent, some of them maintained contact with him, agreed to perform various tasks he asked of them and received funding from him,” the Shin Bet said in a statement, as quoted by Reuters. AFP, Thursday (13/1/2022).

“After being approached via Facebook, Rambod requested that communication continue using the encrypted messaging application WhatsApp,” the Shin Bet continued.

The Shin Bet stated that there are four main suspects, and charges have been issued.

One of the women, aged 40, is alleged to have been in contact with Rambod for several years and carried out various missions.

This included secretly photographing the US Embassy in Tel Aviv, and taking pictures inside the Interior Ministry in his hometown of Holon.

Rambod, the Shin Bet said, also asked the woman to guide her son, prior to his military enlistment, into the Intelligence Directorate with the aim of obtaining sensitive documents.
