In the principal game, the “Jūrmala” team gained a great advantage only in the second part of the match, because in the first half there was a fierce bout. “Jūrmala” started with an 8-0 breakthrough, after the penalty kick of Mikhail Tumin and the landing of Sandra Jauntēvs, but at the end of the half, Jūrmala had only one point advantage 8: 7, because “Lāči” responded with realization. Just one minute before the break, Artūrs Perims hit “Jūrmala” with a six-point 13: 7.
In the second half, “Jūrmala” already confirmed the status of the favorite, and in 15 minutes he made four landings in a row, also flawlessly executed sales blows, reaching 41: 7 on the board. The fate of the match was decided, but the “Rāmavas bears” were not asleep, and in response to two remarks by Aivars Spangers and Guntars Briļjonoks, and the realization of Jānis Pelēčs, the difference in points was reduced to 22 points – 41:19.
Sandris Jauntēvs, the third number of “Jūrmala”, added points to the game and the whole championship with his second and the team’s seventh ground in the match. The men of the resort town won the fight with the Latvian championship debutant 46:19.
For both units, this was the most productive game in the tournament. There is also a bit of satisfaction for the losers, because “Ŗāmava bears” were at the first point in the tournament table, which was earned thanks to three landings.
Mihails Tumins gave the winners in two races to Jauntēva and Perima, but the biggest contribution in terms of points was made to “Jūrmala” by Mihails Tumins, who stood out with a ground, four realizations and one penalty shot, gaining 16 points in total.
“Jūrmala” has finished the Latvian rugby championship in the fifth place with 6 points (one victory, two bonus points, four losses), but in the debut season of “Rāmavas bears” the sixth place with one bonus point in five lost games.
