The omnic hero uses his transformative powers to become a major threat on the battlefield
During the broadcasts of the Overwatch League Finals held last Friday (4), the Blizzard revealed the name and characteristics of the next character who will join the cast of Overwatch 2. Ramattra will be an omnic hero of the tank class, who promises to be the protagonist in the next story arc that the game intends to tell.
According to the developer, the new character is expected to debut with the game’s second competitive season, scheduled for December 6. He promises to have strong ties to the Zenyatta healer and to offer a unique gameplaydue to the fact that it possesses transformative capabilities.
This means that in addition to players who can use Ramattra’s omnic form, they can too they will be able to use their Nemesis transformation am Overwatch 2. While in the first the character has more balanced characteristics, in the second he assumes a more aggressive posture which is excellent for breaking through enemy protection lines.
Ramattra first appeared in 2019
As with other characters who have joined the Overwatch 2 cast, Ramattra had already appeared in other materials released by Blizzard.. In 2019, he was one of the protagonists of the PvE Storm Rising move, having a conversation with Doomfist, who currently doubles as a tank on the game’s roster.
According to hero designer Alec Dawson, the character will be able to protect his companions from a distance and, when he takes the form of Nemesis, he becomes “the greatest target on the battlefield”. “You are running towards the enemies, you are attacking there and you have these punches that you are trying to use to reach the bottom line and get rid of some of your more fragile enemies.“He explained.
As with Kiriko, access to Ramattra must be awarded for free only to those who reach an advanced level of Overwatch Battle Pass 2 – or pay for the Premium track. Blizzard says they are constantly re-evaluating how it will offer new characters and remain alert to the criticisms players have leveled at the game monetization practices.

Blizzard is also planning changes to some of the game’s tanks in a future update.
