Ramadan: Let’s go for a month of deprivation Ramadan: Let’s go for a month of deprivation

Libreville, Monday March 11, 2024 – The Muslim community of Gabon began the Lent period this Monday.

In unison with Muslims from several other countries around the world, Muslims in Gabon began the fast of the month of Ramadan this Monday, March 11, 2024. For a month, the Muslim faithful will demonstrate deprivation, devoting themselves to prayer and sharing with their loved ones.

In Gabon, Imam Benyamin Andjoua Obolo, interim president of the Superior Council of Islamic Affairs of Gabon (CSAIG), delivered the speech to launch this period of piety. Replacing Ismael Oceni, dismissed following the changes that took place at the top of the State on August 30, 2023.
