The People’s Republic of China, through its embassy in Burkina Faso, offered food worth 2.6 million CFA francs to the Federation of Islamic Associations of Burkina (FAIB). It was Monday April 8, 2024 in the presence of Wang Wenzhang, political advisor, representative of the Chinese ambassador to Burkina Faso.
According to political advisor, Wang Wenzhang, representative of the Chinese ambassador to Burkina Faso, both Chinese and Islamic cultures emphasize peace, friendship, solidarity and mutual assistance. This Ramadan donation was organized by the Chinese Embassy in Burkina Faso, in collaboration with the team of the Technical Assistance Project for the Demonstration and Cultivation of Millet in Burkina Faso and the Sino-Burkinabe Trade Friendship Association. Worth 2.6 million CFA francs, the donation consists of 31 bags of corn of 100 kg, 61 bags of rice of 25 kg, 21 cans of 5 liter oil, 60 boxes of spaghetti and 12 boxes of sugar. This surge of active solidarity, which is not the first time, was warmly welcomed by the members of the FAIB. Its president, Dr. Cheick Sidi Mohamed Maïga, clarified that this act of solidarity is concrete proof of friendship and good living together between the two peoples, Chinese and Burkinabè. And to add that this will further strengthen the bonds of fraternity between the two peoples. “This is a concrete manifestation of the deep integration of Chinese nationals in Burkina Faso and their social responsibilities. The millet biscuits which are part of the donation come from Chinese plantation technology and processed in Burkina Faso factories. Which constitutes a visible and tangible result of cooperation between our two countries. This not only creates jobs for the Burkinabè population, but also promotes endogenous development and food self-sufficiency. China and Burkina Faso are separated by thousands of kilometers, but our hearts are linked,” noted the ambassador’s representative, Wang Wenzhang. Wang Wenzhang. More than 20 million Muslims in China right now share the same spirit of Ramadan as their Burkinabè brothers and sisters. The Embassy firmly supports exchanges between the two peoples and plans to organize more visits to China this year, involving Burkinabe friends so that they can experience the customs of various ethnic groups in different regions of China to further strengthen friendship between the two peoples. China, according to Wang Wenzhang, always remains a good friend, a good partner and a good brother of Burkina Faso. “We hope that the relations of friendship and cooperation between our two countries will continue to deepen. Finally, we wish you a peaceful, happy and blessed Eid!”, he concluded.
