RAM launches new Casablanca-Toronto line

The upcoming launch by Royal Air Maroc (RAM) of its new direct Casablanca-Toronto route constitutes an important step in strengthening the rapprochement between Africa and Canada, underlined representatives of several Canadian associations and professional bodies.

This airline, whose inaugural flight is scheduled for December 8, confirms the African vocation of the Kingdom and its desire to further connect the continent with Canada and more generally North America, according to these speakers during a ceremony organized on Wednesday. evening in Toronto, at the initiative of the national company. Speaking on this occasion, the Moroccan Ambassador to Canada, Souriya Otmani, affirmed that this direct flight is likely to promote new opportunities for businessmen, academics, artists and citizens on both sides of the the Atlantic.

This is an important moment in relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and Canada, underlined the diplomat, noting that the event marks a major step in strengthening ties between the two countries and beyond with several Arab, African and European countries, opening new perspectives for regional and international cooperation and exchanges.

“The choice of Casablanca as a strategic hub for Royal Air Maroc underlines Morocco’s central position, not only in Africa but also as a bridge between continents,” continued Ms. Otmani.

For his part, the regional representative of RAM in Canada, Nour-Eddine Ezzairi, noted that this new line, which will be operated at three frequencies per week, will further consolidate the positioning of RAM and illustrates the ambition of the company to expand its network.

The direct Casablanca-Toronto flight will also open up new horizons in the economic and academic fields and will have an undeniable impact on social and cultural exchanges, noted Mr. Ezzairi.

As the leading regional airline in Africa, with more than 90 destinations, RAM plays a vital role in connecting Africa to the rest of the world through the Casablanca hub, he said.

Several other speakers, including the president of the GHANA Association in Ontario, Samuel Asare, and the president of the Nigerian-Canadian Association, Margaret Nwosu, welcomed this initiative which will, according to them, further strengthen the links between the communities African women established in Toronto and the African continent.

This ceremony was attended by representatives of several tour operators, travel agencies and African communities established in Toronto. It was marked by the screening of an institutional film on the tourist attractions of the Kingdom.

The Casa-Toronto service is the national airline’s second direct airline in Canada, strengthening RAM’s Americas network which currently has direct flights connecting its Casablanca Hub to Montreal, New York, Washington, Miami and Sao Paolo which will be reinstated from December 7.
