BOOKINGS OPEN – RAMthe American brand owned by Stellantis, has released images of the production version of the electric pick-up 1500 REVwhich will arrive in the USA at end of 2024 and will have to contend with the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T and Silverado EV, all electric pick-ups on the American market. Reservations are already open through the RamRev.com website by paying a deposit of 100 dollars.
VERY SIMILAR TO THERMAL – As the images on this page demonstrate, the RAM 1500 REV has abandoned the futuristic style of the concept shown at CES (Who the news), to embrace more traditional forms quite similar to those of the electric motor version. The main innovations are concentrated in the front bumper and in the rear fascia, as well as in the alloy wheels, specific and optimized from an aerodynamic point of view, and in the grille that encloses the LED headlights on two levels that extend to the full length. No further specifications have been disclosed. Looking at the images released, you can see a rather compact cabin configuration, which suggests five seats. However, it is likely that RAM may decide to make different cabin configurations available, some specific for commercial use.
NEW PLATFORM – The photos of the interiors were not disclosed either but, also in this case, the RAM would seem to have decided for a traditional setting and completely similar to that of the thermal version, which is distinguished by a touch-type display positioned in the center vertical. The pick up RAM 1500 REV will be built on the new STLA Frame platformspecific for electric vehicles that promises up to 804km range. The house has declared that, thanks to this 800-volt architecture, using a charging power of 350 kW, it is possible to restore up to 160 km of autonomy in 10 minutes. Being a model designed for the American market, where this type of vehicle is also used for work purposes, the RAM promises a reference towing capacity.
