Rallye | DAKAR ONLINE: Michek attacks after a bad Sunday. What about Prokop and Loprais?

Traditionally, motorcyclists set out for Monday’s stage. And compared to Sunday, Martin Michek, who dreams of a total of ten, is doing very solidly so far. In the first stage, he lost more than an hour, but today at the 200th kilometer he is in 13th place with a six-minute deficit, which should bring a shift in the evaluation forward. Jan Brabec, 17th yesterday, is 27th at the same time and Milan Engel 34th. You can watch how they not only go on here.

The car category started later, but in the first split times, the pair Loeb and al-Attíja dominate. Martin Prokop loses eight minutes to them at the 119th kilometer. However, it keeps a very solid pace and is in the top ten of today’s ranking.

The first truck will set off on the track after nine o’clock in the Czech time.

Originally, the so-called marathon stage was on the program on Monday, during which the crews spend the night other than the mechanics and have to take care of their machines themselves. However, due to heavy rains, the organizers had to change everything, because the marathon bivouac is underwater.

“There are puddles everywhere, there are ten degrees in total and it’s really cold,” Ervín Krajčovič, the head of the Czech MRG team, described the conditions.

The competitors will now have 338 measured kilometers, followed by a transfer to the bivouac in the city of Kajsumá.

The director of the rally, David Castera, described that the stage would offer a lot of sand, even small dunes, and in the end there will be a lot of stones with defects. After all, for example, ATV Zdeněk Tůma admitted: “This is probably the most difficult introduction to the Dakar Rally I have ever experienced.”

The Veteran Classic category was then completely abolished today.
