Her interview hit like a bomb. There was hardly a news website that did not report on Cora Schumacher’s interview with Spiegel, in which she spoke in detail for the first time about the coming out of her ex-husband Ralf Schumacher.
In the interview, the 47-year-old went into great detail. She only found out about the news from the media. She was disappointed that her ex-husband had not informed her personally. “I wish Ralf had included me or at least told me. I would have seen that as a sign of respect. Instead, I found out about his coming out from the media,” she told “Spiegel”.
The 49-year-old had made his homosexuality public a month ago and announced his relationship with his boyfriend Etienne.
According to “Spiegel”, Schumacher had to interrupt the interview several times in tears. She often felt alone during her ex-husband’s career. Nevertheless, she held on to the wish that everything was normal, after all, she was well looked after.
She wishes Ralf Schumacher happiness. “But is anyone thinking of me?” asked the 47-year-old. Ralf Schumacher, who publicly admitted to his homosexuality on July 14, has not yet responded directly to his ex-wife’s statements. He only told “Spiegel” by phone that he did not want to be quoted.

Ralf Schumacher has now spoken out. He posted a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation that apparently came from Ralf Schumacher’s husband Etienne. “As you can see from this message to Etienne personally. I think it’s a shame for Etienne and me that she is spreading so many lies,” Ralf Schumacher continues.
He ignored the 47-year-old’s criticism that he should have informed her in advance about his coming out. He concluded his post with the words: “We both just want to be left in peace.”
