WE HAD TO MAKE CHANGES
“Had we continued to play as we did during the first half, it was a matter of when we were going to concede the second goal. That’s why I decided to take a chance with a 4-4-2 with Edi and Fred as the second ‘6’, but those two goals [3-0 y 4-0] at 60/65 minutes they were disastrous for us. We didn’t defend, we didn’t stop them and if you allow a team like Brighton, or any team that handles the ball well, as we saw the first time we played them, we had problems. But if you give them so much space and time and being 3, 4-0 up, it was an easy game for them.”
ENERGY LEVELS
“We have to split the game between two halves or areas. Until the game against West Ham, or even the game against Tottenham, we had decent, solid performances. When we beat Tottenham and West Ham at home and won at Leeds, we showed completely different energy levels. During today’s game, or against Everton, there was a clear lack of energy and aggressiveness. If you play like that, you can’t think you’re going to win the game.”
