Raków helped the entire Ekstraklasa. Poland goes up in the UEFA ranking
The team of Polish champions was definitely the better team in the match against Flora. Raków’s players dominated the midfield, quickly received the ball in the opponent’s half and created a lot of chances, but it all translated into a one-goal advance before the rematch in Estonia.
The victory of Dawid Szwarga’s players contributed to Poland’s advancement in the national UEFA ranking. Before the start of this season, Poland was in 23rd place, slightly behind Russia. For the victory of Rakowa Poland got 0.250 points and currently has 18.750 points, while Russia – 18.632 points. Thanks to this, the Poles advanced to the 22nd place.
This situation may change depending on the decision that UEFA will take regarding awarding points to the Russians for the coming season. Last year, the federation decided to extend a helping hand to the Russians. They were awarded 4,333 points. Why? This was the lowest result achieved by Russian clubs in the last five years, and such a period is counted in the UEFA ranking. For now, however, there is no decision regarding this season, and the Russians have 0 points for this season.
On Tuesday there were two favorable results for Poland. The Hungarians (Ferencvaros’s draw) and the Bulgarians (Ludogorets Razgrad lost) lost points. The former are on the 26th place with 17,500 points, the Bulgarians with 16,250 points are on the 27th position.
Who should football fans pay attention to? These are also the Swedish BK Hacken and the Romanian Farul Konstanca. Both teams will play Champions League qualifying matches on Wednesday.
