Marcus Johansson, 31. From: Seattle Kraken. To: Washington Capitals.
Johansson, who was drafted by Washington in the first round in 2009, is back where his NHL career once began. He was transferred from the club in 2017 and has since played in New Jersey, Boston, Buffalo, Minnesota and Seattle. This season, the 31-year-old has produced 23 (6 + 17) points in 51 games in the bottom team Seattle. In exchange for Johansson, Seattle forward Daniel Sprong will receive a fourth-round pick in this year’s draft and a sixth-round pick in 2023.
Rickard Rakell, 28. From: Anaheim Ducks. To: Pittsburgh Penguins.
There has been gossip that he would be threesome and now it seems to be off. According to several different sources on Twitter, the 28-year-old should be ready for Pittsburgh. Rakell accounted for a really good season 2017-2018 but has not really reached those levels in recent years. This season he has scored 16 goals and 12 assists in 51 appearances. What the Ducks will get in return is not clear yet.
Marc-André Fleury, 37. From: Chicago Blackhawks. To: Minnesota Wild.
Reigning Vezina Trophy winner Marc-André Fleury, who swapped Vegas for Chicago ahead of this season, is ready for Stanley Cup outsider Minnesota Wild in exchange for a conditional first-round pick in this year’s draft. Minnesota has a well-functioning offensive but goalkeepers Cam Talbot and Kappo Kähkönen have not convinced at all. Talbot can boast of having picked up five straight wins lately, but when he occasionally threw pucks into his own bag during the season, Wild feels that they want to secure up in the back row. Fleury has won three Stanley Cup titles with the Pittsburgh Penguins before. With the acquisition of Fleury, Minnesota has sent Kähkönen and a draft pick on to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defender Jacob Middleton.
Johan Larsson, 29. From: Arizona Coyotes. To: Washington Capitals.
Larsson has not played since January 25 due to injury to his lower body. Until then, he had produced 15 (6 + 9) points in 29 games this season. Arizona gets a third-round pick in the NH23 draft 2023 in exchange.
William Lagesson, 26. From: Edmonton Oilers. To: Montreal Canadiens.
The 26-year-old from Gothenburg has had sparse playing time during the 30 games he has made for Edmonton this season. He is now being sent, along with a draft pick, to the Montreal bottom team in exchange for hill Brett Kulak, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.
Justin Braun, 35. From: Philadelphia Flyers. To: New York Rangers.
The veteran defender, who is on an expiring contract, changes the bottom team Flyers to a more or less playoff-ready Rangers. For that, Philadelphia gets a third-round pick in the 2023 draft.
Oskar Sundqvist, 27. From: St Louis Blues. To: Detroit Red Wings.
Sundqvist, who won the Stanley Cup with both the Blues and Pittsburgh Penguins, is going to Detroit as part of a larger trade. St. Louis sends defender Jake Walman, Sundqvist and a second-round pick in the 2023 draft to Detroit and in exchange they get Luke Witkowski and, above all, defender Nick Leddy who played over 20 minutes per game in Detroit this season.
Artturi Lehkonen, 26. Från: Montreal Canadiens. Till: Colorado Avalanche.
The pre-favorites for this year’s Stanley Cup continue to upgrade their team before the playoffs. Last week they took in defensive defender Josh Manson from Anaheim and now they are replacing the Finnish forward Artturi Lehkonen who has accounted for 29 (13 + 16) points in 58 games this season. On the other hand is hill Justin Barron (who was drafted in the first round in 2020) and a second round selection in the draft in 2024.
Andrew Copp, 27. From: Winnipeg Jets. To: New York Rangers.
The New York Rangers continue to broaden their team. According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, center Andrew Copp, who has produced 35 (13 + 22) points in 56 games this season, is ready for Rangers. There is still no information on what the Jets will get in return.
