Rajasthan beat Karnataka to enter the finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Rajasthan defeated Karnataka by six wickets to secure the final ticket. For the first time in 16 years, Rajasthan reached the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Rajasthan progressed to the final when skipper Deepak Hooda played a brilliant innings.
In the match held at Saurashtra Cricket Stadium, Karnataka won the toss and elected to bat. Batting first, Karnataka scored 282 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs.
Abhinav Manohar scored 91 runs in 80 balls in Karnataka’s batting line-up. The star’s smashing innings included ten fours and three massive sixes. Apart from Abhinav, Manoj Bandje scored 63 runs off 39 balls as Karnataka set a huge target of 282 in front of Rajasthan.
Aniket Choudhary and Ajay Kookna did a good job in Rajasthan bowling by taking two wickets each.
In reply, Rajasthan overcame the target with the loss of four wickets in 43.4 overs. Rajasthan batting captain Deepak Hooda scored 180 runs off 128 balls and performed well.
Hooda’s explosive innings consisted of 19 fours and five massive sixes. This brilliant performance also earned Hooda the Player of the Match award. Along with Hooda, Karan Lamba Kutty scored 73 runs off 12 balls and played a crucial role in the victory.
Rajasthan will face Haryana in the final on December 15. The exciting final will be played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
