On Saturday, November 28, at the Congress of the National Union (NA), Raivis Dzintars was re-elected Chairman of the Political Force.
In total, close to 200 party members had registered for the NA Congress.
Dzintars was confirmed as the chairman of the party at the NA Congress.
Nine members were also elected to the NA Board from 16 applicants – Roberts Zīle, Jānis Eglītis, Raitis Ābelnieks, Egils Helmanis, Ieva Holma, Jānis Iesalnieks, Nauris Puntulis, Ginta Vilcāne and Ģirts Lapiņš.
Opening the NA Congress, Dzintars emphasized that the state must act as a unified and well-organized mechanism, but this is not the case at present. “In these circumstances, we feel what political fragmentation and election experiments mean. Political fragmentation is a major driver of the crisis, “said the NA President.
In his address, Dzintars admitted that he is not currently proud of the coalition’s joint work, however, the NA has no choice but to “keep the boat afloat”. He added that the NA is very often the most diplomatic force in the coalition, preventing internal disputes and reducing excessive chaos.
It has already been reported that the NA’s annual congress took place today, this time remotely.
During the congress, the ballot box was opened and the counting of votes was broadcast live. There was also a lot of competition in the board elections this year, and a third of the candidates did not run for the board last year. The current chairman of the party, Dzintars, ran for the position of party chairman.
