Raising Awareness: Vinci Autoroutes’ 27th Intervention Vehicle Collision Sparks National Campaign for Motorway Worker Safety

An intervention vehicle was hit on Monday July 3 on the A11, after Chartres, towards Le Mans.

The van equipped with a trailer was protecting highway agents who were working near the main road when it was hit by a car. This is the 27th collision of intervention vehicles on the Vinci Autoroutes network since the beginning of the year. Faced with the situation, a new national campaign to raise awareness of the safety of motorway workers was launched at the beginning of the week. On average, more than one emergency vehicle is still hit each week, in the majority of cases by sleeping or inattentive drivers.
