Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warned of the possibility of hail. This can happen if convective clouds such as Cumulonimbus clouds form.

In the Weekly Weather Forecast, valid 27 September – 3 October 2024, BMKG revealed that the formation of Cumulonimbus clouds has the potential to increase if atmospheric conditions become unstable or unstable.

“Cumulonimbus clouds are closely related to the potential for lightning, strong winds, tornadoes, even fog,” wrote BMKG, which was announced on Friday (27/9/2024).

“In the next week, people need to increase awareness and early anticipation of the possibility of severe weather. Such as heavy rain in a short time that may be accompanied.
lightning and strong winds,” BMKG said.

BMKG reminded that from the end of September to next October, several regions in Indonesia will enter the transition period from the dry season to the rainy season.

“One of the characteristics during the transition of the season is the rain pattern that usually occurs in the evening until the end of the evening. There is warm and hot air before it in the morning until the evening,” explained BMKG.

“Water features during the transition period tend to be uneven with moderate to heavy intensity over a short period of time. If atmospheric conditions become unstable/unstable, the potential for convective clouds such as Cumulonimbus clouds will increase to create,” explained BMKG.

Atmospheric Dynamics

The results of BMKG’s analysis and research in the past week show that the rainfall in several regions of Indonesia was still very high last week.

For the current situation of atmospheric dynamics, BMKG revealed that at the global level, the values of IOD, SOI and Nino 3.4 are not significant in increasing rain in Indonesia.

“Based on the MJO spatial filter model on 27-28 September 2024, spatially disturbed MJO phenomena are expected to be active around the Banda Sea region and southeast Maluku. BMKG.

With a variety of weather phenomena, from the MJO phenomenon, atmospheric waves, convergence zones, to strong local potential, BMKG produces important early weather warnings. It is scheduled to take place between 27 September and 3 October 2024.
