NEW YORK – Rain continues to hit the three-state area, keeping threats of coastal flooding in place.
Another gray, cold and rainy day is expected for this Tuesday, as the low coast continues to bring moderate to heavy rain with gusts of wind from the northeast.
A coastal flood warning is in effect for the New Jersey coast, where the afternoon high tide cycle can cause flooding in communities along the coast.

Winds will begin to change direction on Wednesday, lessening the possibility of coastal flooding, cold and cloud cover. But the rainy weather will persist until the system finally recedes into the evening hours.
The good news is that the sun will return on Thursday with temperatures reaching back into the 70s by the end of the work week before temperatures drop again this weekend.
