Ubisoft will be releasing a free upgrade for Rainbow Six Siege on December 1. The game can then be played on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X at 120fps at a 4k resolution. The Series S version doesn’t get 120fps and gets stuck at 1080p.
According to Ubisoft, the next-gen upgrade includes the ability to play in 4k ‘to’ 120fps and several other improvements. The game may use a dynamic resolution, Ubisoft does not give details about that. Many 120fps games for the next-gen consoles do.
The upgrade is available for free to Rainbow Six Siege owners. There will also be crossplay between the different versions. Gamers with next-gen version can therefore still play together with gamers who play the game on the old consoles. There is no crossplay between consoles and PC.
On the PS5, the game will also receive support for DualSense controller features. Furthermore, Ubisoft promises better accessibility on all platforms, with readability options and options for text to speech and speech to text. The game would also start faster after the update due to an ‘optimized log-in flow’. A Ubisoft Connect overlay has also been added.
