The General Meetings of Álava are illuminated in rainbow color for the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia
The main façade of the General Meetings of Álava will be illuminated with the colors of the rainbow flag on the occasion, this Wednesday, May 17, of the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, in order to commemorate the elimination of homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses by the General Assembly of the World Health Organization in 1990.

The main façade of the General Meetings of Álava will be illuminated with the colors of the rainbow flag on the occasion, this Wednesday, May 17, of the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, in order to commemorate the elimination of homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses by the General Assembly of the World Health Organization in 1990.
In a statement, the Álava institution explained, this Tuesday, that the initiative is part of the commitments adopted by the Boards in their first ‘Plan for Equality between Women and Men 2022-2025’.
The institution has stated that the lighting will be turned off at 10:00 p.m., to comply with current regulations regarding energy saving and efficiency measures, according to Royal Decree-Law 14/2022, of August 1.
