Mumbai: Thirty-four people, including cricketer Suresh Raina, actor Hrithik Roshan’s ex – wife and fashion designer Susan Khan, and singer Guru Randhawa have been arrested for violating Kovid norms. All were released on bail. The raid took place at 3 am yesterday at the Dragon Fly Club in Andheri, near the Mumbai airport. Among those arrested were 13 women and seven club employees.
The inspection came after a night curfew was declared in Maharashtra in view of the possible spread of Kovid.
Suresh Raina said the violation of the Kovid Act was not intentional and regretted the incident. A spokesman said he had arrived in Mumbai for a shoot and had gone to the club after being invited by a friend for dinner and was on his way to Delhi. The curfew in Mumbai was not known. He explained that it was an unintentional mistake to value the rules and obey them.
Raina, who played 18 Tests and 226 ODIs, announced his retirement in August. Susan Khan is the daughter of actor Sanjay Khan.
