Rain, hail and a small tornado in Versilia: damage to Marina di Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi (Watch video and photos)

Rain, hail and even a small tornado in Versilia this morning which caused some damage to some beach resorts in Marina di Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi (Video and photos).

Also in the municipality of Pietrasanta, trees have fallen: a tree, the Administration reports on Facebook, has caused the closure of the Aurelia state road at the height of the Giardini della Versilia: the municipal Civil Protection has alerted the company responsible for the removal and the firefighters. In Capezzano Pianore and in the municipality of Camaiore, hail has fallen and flooding has been recorded in some streets.

The firefighters report that since the early hours of today the teams of the Pietrasanta and Viareggio detachments have been working to deal with the many requests for intervention caused by the bad weather that is hitting the Lucca coast. Some flooding and many downed trees have characterized this late summer morning: 7 interventions concluded and as many in queue.
