No need to be a forecaster weather to realize it: the weather is generally gloomy almost everywhere in France, as for several days.
However, some regions are more affected than others, with floods already observed in the weekend in municipalities of the North and South-West. Near Maubeuge (North), on Sunday, a man drowned in his car in the midst of flooding.
In his bulletin of Monday 1is February 2021, Météo France place 25 departments in orange vigilance for rain-floods or floods. Vigilance in effect until Tuesday, 6 a.m.
The departments concerned
22 departments of the North and South-West are placed in orange vigilance for floods:

- Val d’Oise
- Yvelines
- Pyrénées-Atlantiques
- Hautes-Pyrenees
- Gers
- Lot-et-Garonne
- Dordogne
- Charente
- Country
- Gironde
- Charente Maritime
- Haute-Garonne
- Tarn-et-Garonne
- Lot
- Tarn
Four departments are on orange vigilance for rain-floods:
- Aveyron
- Cantal
- Corrèze
- Puy de Dome
New disruption at the end of the day
Throughout the day, the weather should remain cloudy and often rainy over much of the country. A “rainy episode requiring particular vigilance because it occurs on soils that are often saturated” in places and flowing “in loaded rivers”, warns Meteo France.
A new disturbance is expected in the West at the end of the day “bringing new rains next night”.
In addition to orange vigilance, 66 departments are also on yellow alert for rain-flood, strong wind, snow-ice, avalanches, wave submersion.
