A persistent rain had fallen on the city when New Yorkers woke up this Thursday and it will continue throughout the day.
The rain could be stronger as the day progresses along with winds of up to 40 miles per hour and temperatures of around 50 degrees. In some areas there could be rainfall of up to three inches.
The remnants of Hurricane Zeta will pass south of the city later tonight with about 1.5 to 2 inches of precipitation.
The National Weather Service put a message on social networks in which it confirms the rain and indicates that it will last until Friday.
Although the rain will subside, there will likely be scattered showers tonight when temperatures drop to 40 degrees.
Friday morning it will continue to rain and it will be cold. Temperatures will remain near 40 and the rain will end at noon. Cold and stormy conditions are expected for Friday night.
As for the weekend, expect sunshine but cool temperatures for Halloween. The maximum temperatures will be 40 degrees. Sunday will be milder, with highs in the 50s and a slight risk of rain at the end of the day.
