Jakarta –
Heavy rains flushed the South Tangerang area and its surroundings accompanied by strong winds this afternoon. As a result, trees as well as billboard collapsed in a location not far away.
Linmas Corporal PP Satpol Tangsel Badawi Bara said the two collapsed at almost the same time. According to him, the fallen tree was located on Jl Kemiri, Pamulang, South Tangerang, while the billboard collapsed on Jl Martadinata.
“Meanwhile, the billboard that collapsed was on Jl RE Martadinata. Both collapsed at around 16.30 WIB due to strong winds,” he said when contacted on Monday (13/6/2022).
He added that from the fallen trees and billboards, there were no casualties or injuries. However, this fallen tree fell on the stalls of used cars.
“The billboard measuring 6 x 12 meters fell while the tree fell, cutting off the electricity for the residents,” he added.
There was a long traffic jam at the point where the billboard collapsed. In fact, this traffic jam occurs in the same two directions because many residents want to watch.
“The length of the traffic jam is about 1-1.5 kilometers, but now it has started to recover, there are officers who are there adjust,” he said.
Advertisement Collapsed Twice
According to him, this billboard has collapsed twice like this. Previously, this billboard collapsed about two months ago.
“It was only about two months ago that this billboard collapsed. The indication is that it is illegal because it is not licensed. However, the construction study which has a question mark can cause it to collapse twice, whether the shape is not appropriate,” said Badawi.
Badawi suspects that the collapse of the billboard was caused by the shape of the building which is like a flag. According to him, if the pole is not on the edge, this construction is stronger.
“It’s shaped like a wide flag on one side. We have corrected that in the first incident, this was in the form of a flag, so he fell again, so he fell again. But if he is installed in the middle, he rarely falls,” he concluded.
