“Rain and Flooding in Northern Italy: Latest Updates and Relief Measures”

The northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna is bracing for even more rain after heavy flooding killed at least 14 people earlier this week.

In parts of the region, the highest risk warning for rain is still in effect, says the Italian Civil Defense on Saturday.

Rain is expected throughout the weekend. In addition, floods and landslides have been reported in several affected areas.

The city of Ravenna, which lies east of Bologna, was particularly hard hit by the storm. On Friday, several rivers overflowed their banks again, and many people struggled to get enough supplies of food and drink.

At least 14 people lost their lives as a result of the flood this week, and around 15,000 people have been evacuated, according to the Italian news agency Ansa.

The Italian government will meet on Tuesday to come up with relief measures for the flood-stricken region.
