In the concert “LNSO and Tchaikovsky”, the LNSO in collaboration with the musicians of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra and the Estonian State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andris Poga, performed Peter Tchaikovsky’s fantasy jury “Romeo and Juliet”.

Tchaikovsky’s popular First Piano Concerto with a solo by the world-renowned pianist Lukas Genesh was also performed. The pianist of Russian-Lithuanian origin Luks Genshu was born in Moscow into an outstanding family of musicians. He is a laureate of several prestigious international competitions, especially a silver medal at the 2015 Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and the 2010 International Chopin Competition.

The author of the music of the performance is Ernests Mediņš.

The musical meeting took place in the sounds of the miniature cycle “Night Butterflies”, which was transformed from a piano solo orchestra by the talented composer Jēkabs Jančevskis.
