Raimonds Pauls’ musical composition of poetry “White minuet in the darkness of night” with introductory words by Jānis Peters and poetry by Jānis Sudrabkalns and Biruta Skujeniece will be premiered at Latvijas Radio 1 on March 8 at 10 p.m.
“Radio Theater” and Maestro Raimonds Pauls’ new musical program “White minuet in the dark of night” will tell the love story of both outstanding poets through the poetry of Jānis Sudrabkalns and Biruta Skujeniece.
“We have a lot of great poets and writers who must not be forgotten, which is why their work must be recorded. Silver Hill was a complex personality, but he is undeniably a great poet. We want to reveal to listeners and viewers feelings that seem out of the ordinary today, ”says Raimonds Pauls.
The introductory words of the musical poetry composition “White minuet in the darkness of the night” were written by the poet Jānis Peters, the piano poems by Maestro, Jānis Sudrabkalns and Biruta Skujeniece will be performed by actors Gundars Grasbergs and Baiba Broka, and Elza Rozentāle will sing. “I fulfilled my grandmother’s dream of performing with Maestro, as well as I met such beautiful people as Baiba Broka and Gundars Grasbergs! The story of Sudrabkalns and Skujeniece is beautifully sad, but it strengthened my conviction that love lives not only in the heart, but also in the head, and it is timeless. I also tried to put this feeling into my singing, ”rejoices singer Elza Rozentāle.
