Railway stations in Koblenz and Montabaur affected – SWR news

The union of German locomotive drivers (GDL) wants to strike Deutsche Bahn by Tuesday. A corresponding urgent application by the railway was rejected by the court.

At Deutsche Bahn, the train drivers’ strike can continue as planned until Tuesday morning. The labor court rejected an injunction on Thursday evening with which the railway wanted to stop the labor dispute. The railway then appealed. But the Hessian State Labor Court in Frankfurt also rejected the injunction against the GDL on Friday.

Train cancellations in the region continue

The renewed strike of the GDL therefore continues to cause some failures in train traffic in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate. The train stations in Montabaur, Kobern-Gondorf, Andernach, Bad Ems and Cochem, for example, are affected. In some cases, Deutsche Bahn draws attention to alternative connections on the homepage. These are marked with a green triangle.

Check the replacement schedule again

In regional traffic, too, according to observations by SWR reporters, more trains canceled on Thursday afternoon than were actually planned in the replacement timetable. This was the case for the regional train line between Koblenz and Limburg. Here the train had announced a two-hour cycle.

The Moselle route also affected

A similar picture emerged on the Moselle route between Koblenz and Trier. Here, too, a two-hour cycle of the fast regional express was announced, the slow regional train should run largely normally. The timetable information showed more train cancellations on Thursday afternoon.

Trains from private companies usually run regularly

Private railways like that Middle Rhine Railway are hardly affected by the strike. According to its own information, the Mittelrheinbahn runs regularly from Mainz to Koblenz. The private railway company WAYS drives on the right bank of the Rhine from Neuwied via Lahnstein and St. Goarshausen regularly towards Frankfurt / M. There are also trains from National Express between Koblenz and Bonn. The enterprise vlxx serves the Koblenz-Kaiserslautern and Koblenz-Frankfurt routes.

Do I get my money back?

Deutsche Bahn advises on its website to postpone planned trips during the GDL strike. Compensation claims can, according to the company, be requested online via the customer account or by post using the passenger rights form.

The labor dispute in passenger traffic has been running since Thursday night. The GDL union is demanding, among other things, a wage increase of 3.2 percent and a corona bonus of 600 euros. Deutsche Bahn presented a new offer on Wednesday.
