Rail traffic between Frankfurt and Offenbach came to a standstill on Friday morning. A body was found on the tracks.

Update from Friday, February 17, 10:30 a.m.: The disturbance in the S- and regional train traffic between Frankfurt and Offenbach has ended. This is reported by the RMV. However, there is also tragic information about the use of emergency doctors between Mühlberg and Kaiserlei. Accordingly, a body was recovered from the tracks here. The body was discovered around 7 a.m. It was initially unclear whether it was a suicide.

Thousands of commuters were waiting at the train stations in the morning rush hour. There were delays, diversions and cancellations. Among other things, the route connects the state capital of Wiesbaden in the west with the cities of Frankfurt and Hanau in the east. It is considered one of the most important public transport connection routes in Hesse.

Major disruption in rail traffic between Frankfurt and Offenbach

First report from Friday, February 17, 9:13 a.m.: While the warning strike is paralyzing the underground and trams in Frankfurt, on Friday morning (February 17) there is little or nothing going on in the S-Bahn and regional trains between Frankfurt and Offenbach. As the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) reports, an emergency doctor’s mission between Frankfurt Mühlberg and Offenbach Kaiserlei is the reason.

Accordingly, there are delays and cancellations on the lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S8, S9 as well as on the rail connections RE50, RB51, RE55. Line S1 only runs between Wiesbaden and Frankfurt Mühlberg and Rödermark to Offenbach Kaiserlei.
