After the heavy thunderstorms over large parts of Baden-Württemberg, rail traffic was partially paralyzed on Tuesday.

Stuttgart (dpa) – According to Deutsche Bahn, the greater Stuttgart area is particularly affected. In regional traffic, the routes from Plochingen and Böblingen to Stuttgart are initially closed. According to a spokesman, only single-track rail traffic is possible on the route between Stuttgart and Schwäbisch Hall-Hessental. There are delays and cancellations in both directions. The reasons are, for example, fallen trees or flooded tracks. Numerous damage had to be repaired on Tuesday morning.

According to Deutsche Bahn, all long-distance trains stopping at Stuttgart Central Station were also impaired in the morning. As an alternative, some trains only stopped in Esslingen and did not go to the main station.

The traffic of the Stuttgart trams (SSB) and the Stuttgart S-Bahn were still affected by the storm in the morning. At least one station in the SSB area was flooded and caused delays in operations. Several stations on three Stuttgart S-Bahn lines were not served in the morning.
