Rail traffic: removal of mine train – AGP

LIBREVILLE, October 13, 2024 (AGP) – The stoppage of a mine train from the Société d’exploitation du transgabonais (Setrag) occurred this Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 2 pm, between the stations of Mboungou Badouma and Lifouta, in kilometers. 569+100, reporting the press release of the company consulted by the AGP.

“This incident occurred in an area that was not upgraded as part of the Track Upgrade Program (PRN) and will be addressed in phase 2 of the PRN, subject to amendment No. 4 which is currently being prepared”, reveals the press release.

As a result, the same press release continues, “all train circulation has been temporarily disrupted. All teams are currently on site to clear and restore the track as soon as possible. Normal restoration of rail traffic is scheduled for Tuesday October 15, 2024.”

Therefore, Setrag reassures, that passenger train No. 731, departing from Owendo station, ends its journey at Lastourville station, on Monday 14 October at 8am. Passengers heading to Moanda and Franceville will continue their journey through a bus service established by Setrag for this purpose.

Passenger train No. 712 departing from Franceville, originally scheduled for this day, has been canceled until Monday 14 October 2024 at 12pm, departing from Lastourville station.
