From Sunday 11 December, Dutch Railways will reactivate trains between Lelystad Center and Dronten. Due to construction work after a serious power failure, rail traffic was not possible on that part of the Hanze line for three months.
On September 2, a power outage caused a high-voltage cable belonging to network operator Tennet to shut down on a ProRail overhead line near Swifterbant. Signage, buried cables and information security systems also suffered considerable damage.

The repairs took months. Everything had to be replaced over a length of seven kilometers. According to ProRail spokesman Jeroen Wienen, this was a huge operation.
“Normally, the preparation time for a project of this size is already a year. For example, we looked at other projects to see if we could borrow something so we could use it now,” he says. Flevoland broadcasting.
The bus
Recently, buses have been used between Lelystad Center and Dronten. That hasn’t always gone smoothly. Due to the shortage of drivers, travelers had to work several shifts waiting hours.
