Rail Baltica: The First High-Speed Railway and Air Connection Center in the Baltics at Riga International Airport

“Rail Baltica” railway station at Riga International Airport will be the first high-speed railway and air connection center in the Baltics. A modern and multifunctional passenger service complex will be created, which will be connected to the airport infrastructure and will offer new mobility options and amenities for passengers.

In the course of the project, a 4.5 km high-speed railway line must be built, which includes both an overpass and an embankment, as well as a multi-level high-speed railway station with multifunctional and passenger-friendly infrastructure, which will form an air and rail connection.

The new railway station and airport will be connected by a pedestrian bridge and square after the construction of the new airport terminal.
Passengers will be able to get to the airport not only with the international high-speed train, which is scheduled four times a day, but also with a regular regional traffic train.

The construction of the “Rail Baltica” station and related infrastructure at the “Riga” airport began at the end of the summer of 2021. The construction works are planned to be carried out sequentially, in five stages – until the end of 2025.
