Räikkönen had a positive test for covid-19, replaced by Kubica – F1sport.cz

The information was confirmed simultaneously by all three parties: the FIA, F1 and the Alfa Romeo team. Kimi Räikkönen will not take part in the qualification or the race in Zandvoort due to a positive test. Of course, his participation in Italy is also in the stars. It’s been a week in Monza.

The rest of the weekend in Zandvoort will be completed by the team’s rider Robert Kubica instead of Räikkönen.

This is not the first time an F1 driver can compete due to a positive covid-19 test. Sergio Pérez missed both races in Silverstone last year. His then teammate Lance Stroll fell ill in October and missed the race at the Nürburgring. Lewis Hamilton became infected at the end of the season, omitting the Sachir Grand Prix.

Other riders suffered the covid-19 outside of the race weekends – at the beginning of the year Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc.

Some team bosses also got infected – Toto Wolff, Zak Brown or Räikkönen’s boss Frédéric Vasseur.
