In about a week, people who were customers of Raiffeisenbank (Bulgaria) and used the bank’s mobile application will be transferred to the UBB Mobile mobile application, explained Miroslav Rizenov, director of “Digital Channels” at UBB. After the Belgian group KBC, which owns UBB, bought Raiffeisenbank (Bulgaria), the process of transferring customers and accounts from one bank to another continues.
The bank account numbers that people had with Raiffeisenbank will be valid until the end of March 2025 to give them time to notify their counterparties of their new bank account. But in about a week, when logging into the UBB mobile application, people who were Raiffeisenbank customers will see their old and new bank accounts. If they receive money in the old bank account, it will automatically be redirected to the new one. And payments will be made through the new account. This scheme will run until March 2025, after which only the new bank account will be valid.
Upon Bulgaria’s entry into the Eurozone, which is possible at the beginning of 2025 at the earliest, all money in people’s leva accounts will automatically be converted into euros. But bank account numbers will not be changed.
