The Raiders Tirol reward themselves in a crazy, hard-fought game with a 45:42 victory against the Stuttgart Surge.
Head Coach Jim Herrmann’s team fell behind 10:28 in the second quarter, but was able to reduce the deficit to 21:28 before halftime.
When the third quarter kicks off, a real exchange of blows begins. First, the Raiders equalize at 28:28, the Stuttgart home team increases their lead by seven points, before the Innsbruck team equalizes again.
The final quarter begins with the score at 35:35, and the Austrians regain the lead with a field goal from Darragh Leader (38:35). The Surge, in which German NFL player Jakob Johnson is a partner, respond with their last points and increase the score to 42:38.
The salvation for the Raiders, coupled with the first defeat of the season for the Stuttgart team, comes from Richard Weber and a successful PAT (point after touchdown) with 43 seconds left on the clock.
With a score of 45:42 and a blocked field goal attempt by the home team, the Raiders can no longer be denied their seventh win of the season at the final whistle.
Football record in Munich
In the twelfth week, fans will witness a new record: The Munich Ravens clearly beat the Barcelona Dragons 90:0!
The final quarter was particularly impressive, with the Germans scoring 34 points.
Not only is this the biggest win by an ELF franchise ever, but no team in the NFL has ever scored so many points in a single game.
In the USA, the Washington Commanders hold the NFL record with 72 points scored. This was set on November 27, 1966 in the game against the New York Giants (at that time still known as the “Redskins”).
