The Las Vegas Raiders will require all spectators at their home games to present a certificate of being vaccinated for COVID-19.
The team announced Monday that the regulations will take effect from the first game of the regular season, on Sept. 13, against Baltimore.
The Raiders embraced the change under new directives from Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak on mass events. Vaccinated fans will not have to wear face masks at matches.
“Health and safety has always been our first priority,” said Raiders owner Mark Davis. “After consultation with Governor Sisolak and other community leaders, this policy ensures that we can operate at full capacity without face masks for all vaccinated fans throughout the season.”
The Raiders played their first season in Las Vegas in 2020 without an audience but they will be able to fill the stadium this season.
The team will provide the opportunity for fans to get vaccinated at Allegiant Stadium prior to games. Fans who get vaccinated at the stadium will be required to wear masks for two weeks after their second dose.
