Raiders Enter Orthodox Church and Demand Change of Leadership: Reports from Ukraine

Raiders, supporters of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), entered the altar of the St. Michael’s Cathedral of the UOC in the city of Shepetovka in western Ukraine. This is reported today, April 8, by the Union of Orthodox Journalists in its telegram channels.

The news that the temple in Shepetovka was captured appeared about an hour ago.

A similar situation is developing right now in Kamenetz-Podolsky in the same Western Ukraine. Adherents of the OCU are gathering at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).

“The raiders are breaking through to the cathedral! Please pray!” – they call on the believers in the telegram channel.

Supporters of the UOC demand that the church community change the UOC to the OCU, the telegram channel notes.

As reported today EADaily, the issue of the expulsion of the UOC from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra will be decided through the courts. We’ll have to wait for his decision. About this on the air of Radio Liberty* said the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy Nikita Poturaev.
